The legendary land of Sikkim was an independent kingdom becoming the part of the republic of India. Flanked between Nepal to the west, Bhutan to the east and Tibet to the North, Sikkim is extremely mountainous. Sikkimâs avifauna is typically eastern Himalayan with Palearctic species predominating in the largely inaccessible regions in the far North.

Birds that can be found here are Golden-throated Barbet, Speckled Piculet, Grey-crowned Pygmy Woodpecker, Spangled Drongo, Jungle Myna, Common Green Magpie, Red-billed Leiothrix and Long-tailed Minivet to name a few.
